DAWSON (nee Carlson), Audrey June — passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at the age of 83. She was born in Revelstoke, B.C. on July 6, 1930 and always loved the beautiful view of Mt. Begbie. In 1942, her family moved to Nelson, briefly and then to Oasis. In 1949, her parents decided to move again to North Bend, but Audrey fell in love and chose to marry Clifford and stay in Oasis.

Together they raised four children and celebrated 64 years of marriage. She worked for the Post Office delivering mail for 15 years and was the secretary for the Oasis waterworks for 43 years. For many years she was a lecturer for Weight Watchers and she volunteered for the Red Cross, Meals-on-Wheels & The Hospice Society. She was a loyal member of the St. Andrews Parish, Choir, Altar Guild and Committee. She was a lay minister for 20 years and Warden two times.

One of her favorite places was Christina Lake. There, she enjoyed many afternoons at the beach and swimming & evenings around a campfire with family and friends. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, swimming, bowling and walking. She was a very loving, thoughtful, kind-hearted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & friend who will be missed dearly.

Survived by her husband, Clifford; their children, Richard (Linda), David, Cheryl (Robert) and Keith (Karen); their grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie, Autym), Andrew (April), Philip, Emily, Eliza and Izack; their great grandchildren, Mikaya, Rhylan, Bailey and one on the way. Also survived by her brothers, David (Sheila), Eric (Karen) and Larry (Val); sister, Judy (Bill); sisters in-law, Mary and Clara along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Godfred and June Carlson; her in-laws, Albert and Mary Dawson; brother Bill; sister Dodie; brothers in-law, Jack, Albert and Edward; sisters in-law, Mildred, Lillian and Joyce.

We are truly grateful for the care she received from Dr. Aiken and those attending her final moments. Many thanks to friends and neighbors for their condolences, kindness and support. Again, thank you all.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday, Sept. 12th, 11:00am at St. Andrew’s and St. George’s Anglican Church in Trail, 1347 Pine Ave., with Canon Neil Elliot presiding. A reception will follow in the Church hall as well as a graveside interment. All are welcome to attend. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
