It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Barbara Coates after a courageous and unbelievable battle with cancer.
Mom was born in the Zelma area of Saskatchewan on October 5, 1919. Her youth was spent growing up on a farm in that area. In 1941 she married Victor Wyshynski with whom she had two sons (Melvin and Robert). Unfortunately, after many years, the marriage failed. During the 1960’s and early 1970’s Mom lived in Saskatoon and Calgary.
In 1971 she met Williams Coates and later that year she married him and moved to Trail to live with him. Mom lived in Trail until her death on July 27.
Mom was predeceased by her husband William Coates, her parents Eva (Trautman) and Martin Usselman as well as four sisters, two brothers, one daughter in law (Linda) and one stepson (Denton).
Left to cherish her memory are sons Mel (Laura) and Robert (Doreen), stepdaughters Gwen (Morley) and Ellie (Gary), nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren as well as numerous other friends and relatives.

Cremation has taken place and a service will be held in Allan, Saskatchewan at a later date. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
