October 2, 1933 - November 30, 2018
Survived by her daughters, Diane Lea Ramsden (Joey Smith) Victoria, BC, and Adrienne Erickson, Sechelt, BC, granddaughters Illithia, Amelia, Talea, and grandson Jordan; numerous wonderful friends including Betty Jenkins and Karen Anderson; and her beloved cat, Heidi. Barbara was predeceased by youngest daughter Debra Cooper Kisor of Olympia, Washington.

Opinionated, quick-witted and as stubborn as she was proud, Barb lived her life on her own terms. She was an adventurer - the first non-indigenous woman to sail up the Nahanni River - and she treasured the relationships she forged with the First Nations people she met during that period of her life. She fostered two lion cubs (Rama and Mara) as well as a cougar named Mitzi. She loved animals and was never without a dog or cat as a constant companion to the end of her life. We wish her peaceful rest surrounded by her beloved pets who have gone before her.

No service. Private cremation. Her daughters and friends will grieve her loss in their own space and time.

Do not be sad. I am with you in the snowflakes that fall from the heavens; I am in the rays of sun on a bright summer's day; I am in the sparkling of stars.
