HAWKINS: Belinda Ellen

It is with great sadness that Jay and Alice Hawkins of Fruitvale, BC announce the peaceful passing of their beloved daughter Belinda after a five year battle with Frontal Lobe Dementia. They are comforted that she is now home with her Lord and Saviour Jesus, dancing, laughing and free from the pains of this life.

In addition to her parents, Belinda is survived by her brothers Kris (Jenn), Eric and Daniel, her Nana, Kay Hawkins, her Grandpa, Kaj Bisgaard, her niece Jordyn Hawkins as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Belinda is pre-deceased by her Papa, Ron Hawkins and her Grandma, Ellen Bisgaard.

Belinda Ellen was born June 6, 1984 and entered into eternal rest Sunday, September, 14th at Columbia View Lodge. Growing up in rural Fruitvale Belinda brought life to all her activities including family, church, friendships, school, work, travel and the outdoors. She was wholehearted about everything she did.

A special thank you goes to the amazing staff at Columbia View Lodge who for nearly three years looked after Belinda not only with professionalism, but with their hearts as well. Thank you to Doctors McCoid, Okonkwo and Dalla Lana who travelled with us through uncharted territory. Thank you to friends and family who stood by us and continue to walk with us. We are also grateful to our church family for bearing us up during this journey through the valley. Thank you also to our work family at SD#20 who has helped in so many ways.

Burial will take place Friday, September 19th at 1:30 pm at the Fruitvale Cemetery with a Celebration of her life the following day, Saturday, September 20th at 11:00 am at Fruitvale Christian Fellowship, 1878 Columbia Gardens Rd., Fruitvale, BC. Pastors Bryan and Nyla Henry along with Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral Services are in care of arrangements.
