August 5, 2020
With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Ben Huth on Wednesday, August 5th. He passed away at home peacefully surrounded with his family by his side, his deepest love.
Ben's life journey was full. He started in the grocery business in Vancouver in the early 60's, and moved his family to Trail in 1975 where most could find "Chicken Ben" running Dixie Lee for many years until he moved into real estate for the last of his career.
Ben grew up as a competitive athlete in Creston playing a multitude of sports. If he was not playing, he was watching. Upon retirement his golf passion grew and you could always find him on the golf course. Ben and Valerie loved to travel and cruise and were fortunate and graced to visit a lot of the world.
Ben was a cheeky character that talked to absolutely everyone and loved to give his 3 daughters a hard time ("I'm just kidding girls").
Ben is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Valerie, the love of his life and his family; daughter Rhonda (Neale), Karly (Chris) Cade and Chase, Brendan (Kat) Chloe + baby to be, daughter Robyn (Charlie), Nova, daughter Deb (Dan), *Mitch, Morgan (Erik) and his two brothers Jim (Karen), Doug and many nieces and nephews
Ben is not alone, he now soars with his grandson *Mitch.
We love you Benj and will miss you forever.
A special thanks goes out to our Angel Shannon, our palliative care nurse. Her compassion and support guided us through the end of Benji's circle of life.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ben's name may be made to a wildlife organization such as: www.crestonwildlife. ca at https://crestonwildlife.ca/donate or to www.ducksunlimited at https://support.ducks.ca/give/283238/#!/donation/checkout?utm_source=website&utm_medium=web&utm_content=img&utm_campaign=help
