HOLM, Bernard Anders - passed away peacefully at Rosewood Village on May 27, 2014 at the age of 96.

Bernie was born in Rossland, BC on January 14, 1918. Rossland is where Bernie met and fell in love with Victoria Ritco. They married, raised their family and lived their entire lives together in Rossland. For the last 5 years of Bernie’s life he lived in Trail at Rosewood Village.

Bernie was predeceased by his wife Victoria in 1985, 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his son Albert (Eileen) of Trail, daughter Linda (David) Kovacic of Cranbrook, grandchildren Glen Kovacic, Colleen (Bob) Gilowski, Michelle (Trevor) Burmachuk and Brent Holm; 7 great grandchildren: Dylan, Halle & Nate Kovacic; Braden, Easton & Gracie Gilowski and Gavin Burmachuk.

Bernie served in the Armed Forces from 1942-1946, stationed in the Aleutian Island, England and Holland. Before and after the war he worked at Cominco as an electrician for a total of 35 years.

He was a talented musician and loved to play his guitar. He spent many a Saturday night playing at dances with the Rancho Grande Boys and the Westernairs.

Most days he could be found tinkering in his basement workshop repairing small appliances for friends and neighbours.
