November 21, 1967 - June 21, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with broken hearts that our entire family sadly announces the sudden passing of our beloved Brenda Lynn Wilson, on June 21, 2024, at 56 years of age. Brenda was born to Ian & Laura Wilson on Nov. 21, 1967 in Rossland, B.C. As a child, she was a delight with her bubbly personality & endearing ways, as well as being smart, independent, & very organized, making to-do lists from a very early age.

With her sister, Barb, & their parents, Brenda enjoyed many winters skiing @ Red Mt., including being a Red Mt. Racer, thus becoming a very good skier. In the summers spent at their cabin at Christina Lake, she became an excellent swimmer, diver, & water skier, while also enjoying many campfires toasting marshmallows.

She attended MacLean Elementary School, Rossland Secondary School, & Selkirk College before going to Caribou College where she got her background in Medical Lab Technology. Brenda did her practicum at the Trail Hospital lab, then was hired soon afterwards. She became an excellent lab technologist, never making an error in her work. Later, she worked at the UBC Lab before returning to the Trail lab where she continued working until severe erosive osteo arthritis shortened her career. This was devastating for her as she took great pride in the challenging work of lab technology.

Brenda then concentrated on making a beautiful home for her family, using her skills in decor, as well as being an excellent cook & baker. Her home displayed many items gathered from nature including seashells, pinecones, & polished stones, & her children's friends were always welcome there.

She also enjoyed stylish fashions, reading, & researching many topics of interest, becoming an expert on some. As well, she continued to love animals, having had cats since the age of 4, then both cats & dogs throughout her adult life.

Despite her physical disabilities, Brenda bravely carried on, believing she could still accomplish difficult tasks, proving her strong determination time after time.

Brenda's three children, Nick, Brooke, & Kyle, were the pride & joy of her life as was apparent in her loving relationship with them. In spite of her debilitating, ever-present pain, she was a very caring, generous, & accepting person, as well as being compassionate & nonjudgemental.

Brenda was predeceased by her dad, Ian Wilson (2019), her paternal grandparents (Alex & Edwina Wilson), maternal grandparents (Joe & Torchy Volpatti) uncle John Wilson, & brother-in-law, Patrick Nutini.

She is survived by her children, Nick Foli, Brooke Foli (Ryan Neil), Kyle Popoff, her mom, Laura Wilson, her sister, Barb Nutini, nieces Renee Nutini (Elliott Elm) & Alana (Damon Fasthuber), aunt Diane Volpatti, uncle & aunt, Louie & Doreen Pusich of Juneau, Ak, & cousins Mark, Paul, & David Pusich & families, as well as former spouses, Collin Foli and Randy Popoff.

Memorial donations in Brenda's name may be made to the KBRH Hospital Health Foundation, 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or the SPCA, 124 Heritage Way, Castlegar, B.C., V1N 4M5.

A small, private memorial will be held to honour Brenda's life. Gwen Ziprick of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
