Celestino Luigi 'Cele' Cargnelli

Cele was born on November 18, 1934, in Trail, BC and passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Trail, BC.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jean and daughter Donna Richtsfeld (Cargnelli), and his parents Gaetano and Maria Cargnelli.
He is survived by his brother Ivo Cargnelli, daughter Diane (Martin) Handly, son John (Sue) Cargnelli, son-in-law Gordon Richtsfeld, grandchildren; Evan Richtsfeld, Katrina Cargnelli, and Tessa Richtsfeld, and nephews and cousins.
He graduated from J.L. Crowe in 1954. After high school, he began his apprenticeship as an instrumentation mechanic and worked his entire career at Cominco until retiring in 1992. He married the love of his life, high school sweetheart Jean Attaway in 1959. He enjoyed many outdoor activities like skiing and fishing and some of his most happy times were spent at Deer Park, among family and friends.
He was a true family man; a loving Husband, a caring Father, and most especially, he loved being Nonno to his grandchildren. We will remember him as a friend to all who was the first to offer help and the last to ask for any.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (2012 Third Avenue, Trail) on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 10:30 am with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. At Cele's request, there will be no visitation; he will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery at a private family service. Andreas Schmitz of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
