Batch, Charles Gerald (Gerry) was born on February 10, 1948 in Regina, SK and passed way suddenly and unexpectedly on November 11, 2016 with family by his side, in the ICU of Vancouver General Hospital after a 2 ½ year battle with an auto immune disease.

Gerry was a loving, caring family man who adored his granddaughters. They meant everything to him. He especially enjoyed their trips to the Handy Store, camping at Rock Creek, and spending family time at Fairmont each year.

Gerry was a talented carpenter who loved to build special projects for anyone who asked. If someone was doing a project and needed help he was there to give a hand. He never said no. He shared his knowledge with many and taught his sons-in-law how to do it and do it right. They are so grateful for this. Gerry learned his carpentry skills while working at Teck Cominco for 30 years. After retirement he continued to build. With so much more to do!

Gerry is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 ½ years Pat, daughters; Heather (Jason) Avis, Robyn (Mike) Batch-Fitzpatrick, granddaughters; Teagan and Bree Fitzpatrick, Paige and Payton Avis, mother; May Batch, brother; Cyril (Pam), brothers-in-law; Bob (Pat) Morran, Jamie Morran, Hugh (Jackie) Hutchings and Ray Tilby, sister-in-law; Lori Melnychuk, as well as several nieces and nephews, and extended family.

He was predeceased by his father Charlie Batch, sister; Valerie Hutchings, father and mother-in-law Frank and June Morran, sister-in-law; Kathy Tilby, and brother-in-law; Ken Morran.

A Celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11, 2141 Columbia Ave, on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 am with Celebrant Gwen Ziprick.
