August 23rd 1922 to January 22nd 2014. Madame, as she was affectionately known to her students at J. Lloyd Crowe High School, has passed away of natural causes.
She was predeceased by her husband William and is survived by her sons Bernhard, Mark and Eric and her two grandchildren, Christopher and Jacqueline –as well as Susan Hermanson and Denise Hetman-wives of Bernhard and Mark.
She was born in Lille, France and moved to Canada after the war to raise her family. She lived and taught in Trail until the late 80s and then moved to Summerland. She continued with her passion for all things French by organizing a Cercle Francais in the Okanagan and will always be remembered for her vivacious personality and zest for life. She kept her amazing sense of humour until the very end.
There will be no ceremony, and her ashes will be placed by her husband’s grave in Summerland.
