It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the death of Cody Levi Messer. Cody will be deeply missed by his parents, Rob and Bev Messer of Fruitvale; his "favorite" nana, Shirley McLennan, of Trail; his big brother Kenn Messer (Gaby); his big sister Tami Byers (Greg); his nieces Maya and Tia; and his nephew Jaxin, all of Trail.
Cody was predeceased by his Papa, Lyle McLennan; his grandpa, Allan Messer; his grandma, Winnie Messer and his cousin, Aaron Messer.
Cody's smile and quiet ways touched many hearts and many lives. "He was one of a kind; a true friend". Cody followed in his Papa Lyle's footsteps in cheering for the Boston Red Sox and he defied family tradition by rooting for the Calgary Flames--for which he took a lot of "heat". Friends have commented on his face book page that they will miss his contagious laugh, his "his crooked little smile", how he loved life, and how he was always doing "something quirky". He will be missed for his quick wit and sharp remarks.

A memorial service for Cody will be held, Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at the Trail Middle School Gym, 2000-3rd Avenue, Trail at 2PM. Tea to follow. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements
