Colin Harpell

January 12, 2013

Colin was born in Kingston on February 17, 1926 and went home to the Lord on January 12, 2013 with his loving wife by his side. He led an illustrious life having had many professions such as steam engineer, police officer, window salesman and lumber yard worker. An avid reader, Colin also enjoyed gardening, puttering in his workshop, playing games and telling tall tales. Best of all, Colin relished watching people from all walks of life take delight in the exotic and domestic animals that he loved so much at Amanda Ranch, which was just east of Fruitvale.

He is survived by his wife Rose (formerly Kanda), son Lantz (Kalsy), grandson Zack, daughter Pat, sister Margaret from Peterborough and sister in law Audrey as well as many step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Funeral service will be held at the Trail Alliance Church on Friday, January 18th, 2013 at 1:00pm with Pastor Ken Siemens officiating. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jenkins for her unfailing care even under the most difficult circumstances, the 3rd medical floor staff at KBRH, and the wonderful staff at Columbia View Lodge who treated Colin so gently during his final days.
