It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, and grandfather Daniel McFarland on November 18, 2021. Dan "Monk" McFarland was born in Rossland, BC on May 26, 1960, to John and Ethel McFarland. Sports was a big part of Dan's life, especially hockey, he was an amazing goaltender. Dan played for both the Rossland Warriors, and the Trail Smoke Eaters.
He was a member of team BC for the 1979 Canada Winter Games where his team won the gold medal. In 2015, Dan along with his teammates were inducted into the BC Hockey Hall of Fame. He loved to keep busy doing woodworking projects and was the main chef of the house.
Dan will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 37 years Corinne, his daughters Kayla (Jason) Kosar and Danielle (Bryan) MacKenzie. His grandchildren who always brought a smile to his face; Henry, Lillian, Theodore, and Elliott as well as his extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers John and Stevie. As per his wishes there will not be a service. The family would like to thank the emergency department and 3rd floor staff at KBRH, as well as CVL for their compassion and care over the last 6 months.
