Darlene Gwendowline Symons (nee Trewhella)

was born in Rossland on July 22, 1942 and died suddenly on June 6, 2015 at home.

She is predeceased by parents Richard (Dick) and Annie, stepmother Kay, son Brian, sisters Annie May Zanet and Dixie Shepherd and brothers Garry and Robert. Survived by her loving husband Ron and her son Kevin, sisters Wendy (Gerry) Wagner and Linda (Vern) Chudy, brothers Bill (Gail) and Matthew, sisters-in-law Norma (Mike) Spatari and Dot Symons, brother-in-law Reg (Anke) Symons, special nieces Ann Marie (Ryan) Wagner, Sandra and DeAnna Zanet, cousins Kathy (Buck) Smith, Peter Lory and Glen Harach and many more nieces and nephews.

Darlene worked for Freddy’s bakery, Orwell Hotel, Mater Misercordiae Hospital and Subway. She was an avid bingo and Yahtzee player. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, her rose garden as well as family dinners and barbeques.

She will also be remembered for her creative holiday themed outfits, which the residents of Mater and later Rosewood Village really enjoyed.

At Darlene’s request there will be no service. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to charity of your choice in Darlene’s name.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Darlene’s special family and friends will be notified by phone.
