In loving memory ~

David Adams, 77, of Nanaimo, BC, passed away peacefully with family at his side, on October 31, 2024

Dave was born on Dec 6, 1946 in Vancouver, BC. After Dave graduated from Secondary School in 1964, he immediately entered a Machinist apprenticeship at Cominco in Trail BC and became a Machinist Feb 5, 1969.

Soon after his highschool graduation, Dave met the love of his life and wife Marnie (nee Bailey). Dave and Marnie went on to have two children, Chris and Stephanie, raising their family in Rossland BC. Dave was soft spoken and was a protective, loving, loyal, kind, caring and devoted husband and father.

Dave worked his entire 37-year career at what is now called Teck Cominco. Dave worked in the Roaster Acid plant until October 1989 after which he transferred to the E&M plant until his retirement at age 55 in December 2001. In retirement Dave enjoyed downhill skiing at Red Mountain, golfing, riding his bike, going for walks, doing crossword puzzles and reading. He especially enjoyed spending time at the cabin at Christina Lake—a space that was shared with close friends, the Saare family.

Dave was predeceased by his father Donald and his wife Marnie. He is survived by his mother Evelyn (nee Beck), children Chris (Roxie), and Stephanie (Jason), brothers Mike (Linda), Wayne (Sylvia), and Murray (Fi), grandson David, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Canadian Cancer Society
