Diane was born in Trail Sept. 22, 1936 and after living in Fruitvale for most of her life, she passed away unexpectedly, but comfortably in Trail Aug.13, 2011.
Upon retiring after working 30 years at Safeway she was able to spend more time with family, friends and in her beautiful garden of flowers. She was a funny, wonderful and caring mom, sister, friend and grandmother.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Severina and Tony Marchi. She is survived by her children Bill (Margot) and Debbie (Greg). Siblings Laurie, June (Rick), Sharry, Ed (Teri) and Jerry (Kendra). Grandchildren Travis (Carly), Ryan, Lindsay (Travis) and Cory, Ty and Matt.
Great grandchildren Jocelyn and Brooklyn as well as many nieces and nephews. Although we are deeply saddened by Diane’s passing, her family and friends are grateful for the time we shared. As per Diane’s request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation.
My Mother Kept A Garden
My Mother kept a garden.
A garden of the heart;
She planted all the good things,
That gave my life it’s start.
She turned me to the sunshine,
And encouraged me to dream:
Fostering and nurturing
The seeds of self-esteem.
And when the winds and rains came,
She protected me enough;
But not too much, she knew I’d need
To stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example,
Always taught me right from wrong;
Markers for my pathway
To last my whole life long.
I am my Mother’s garden,
I am her legacy.
And I hope today she feels the love,
Reflected back from me.
