Donald L. Birkenes

January 26, 1959 – February 21, 2023
In loving memory ~
Our beloved brother Don passed away from natural causes at the age of 64.
He is survived by his sisters; Karen (Jagtar), Jo-Ann, and Laurie, his brother Richard, his niece Shinder (Melvin), and their daughters; Summer, Alaniya, and Monroe, his nephew Alamjeet (Bobbi), and their sons Landon and Grayson. Don will also be remembered by many extended family members and friends throughout Canada.
Our brother had many varied interests. He was a frequent patron of the local library. He enjoyed reading … especially biographies and science magazines. He had a great singing voice, and his poems often reflected what was going on in his life. Don also enjoyed comedy and had a witty sense of humour, which he often shared with those around him, especially family. Our brother had a compassionate heart for people in need, and many others.
To honour our brother’s wishes, there will be no “Celebration of Life” and his ashes will be scattered in the same spot as our parents. Don’s faith in the Lord has given us comfort that we will be together again. Kole Roth of Clark’s Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
Much appreciation goes to Dr. Fariba Maleki, as well as the various medical professionals who were involved in Don’s care over the years. A special “Shout Out” of thanks also goes out to Don’s church family and his other close friends in the community.
If you wish, as an expression of sympathy, please donate to a charity of your choice or do a random act of kindness.
