Dori was born in Trail on February 28, 1975, and left us suddenly on March 28, 2017.

Dori is survived by the loves of her life, her two sons, Wayne Haines and Seth Brent. They gave her daily inspiration to be happy and love life.

She is also survived by her mom, Linda Swanson, and her dad, Richard Swanson;

2 sisters, Delsey (Kevin Gay) and Debbi (Denis McIssac); 2 brothers Jeremy Swanson and Emmet Korn; step siblings, Brad (Tanis) Buskey and Sue Buskey. She had many many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dori was a fun and loving mom. She loved quirkiness and was not afraid to be silly. She was a very hard worker and would help anyone. Dori judged no one and had compassion for all. Dori’s sons, nieces and nephews, and friends loved to hang out with her, whether scouring the second hand stores, binning, or hiking to the HB mine. She was a fun person. Her family was large and intertwined and sometimes messy but Dori loved them all and helped them all with any tasks. She never complained, she just loved and accepted all.

Dori was predeceased by her step father, Louis Buskey, in December 2015. She put her life on hold for the last year of his life to help her mom care for him and keep him at home till his last day. Also predeceased by her uncles Joe Anderson, Brad Luke, Ross Wilcox, and her cousins Joel Nixon and Meikayla Maddison, who all had the same free spirit as Dori.

Dori’s heart was large and filled with love. In the end, this heart became overwhelmed and stopped beating.
