Sep 17, 1924 - Feb 28, 2018
Doris was born September 17, 1924, in St. Louis, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully, with family by her side, February 28, 2018 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.

Mom worked at Hope's Bakery, the Welcome Inn and the Pastry Shop, but her real love was being a wife and mother. She was an excellent seamstress, "whipping up" clothing for herself, her daughters and her grandchildren.

She also enjoyed Sunday drives, picnics with family and friends and of course shopping - especially for shoes! She and Dad loved laughing, dancing, travelling in the Datsun and later camper vans, making trips across Canada and to the States. Her prairie roots were very important to her and she looked forward to returning to the farm each year.

She was a 48-year member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 11. She and Dad also belonged to the Eagles for many years.

Her pride and joy was her family. She adored her many grandchildren. She always enjoyed a good visit with them, sharing stories of her own era growing up, which always had them laughing.

She is survived by her brother, Raymond Cook, daughters Gail (David) Chartres, Judy (Doug) Conners, Beverly Smith (Gerald) and Marnie (Paul) Devlin 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Edith Cook, husband Lewis, son Terry, eight siblings, in-laws Herb and Suzanna Bird and Lewis' six siblings and spouses.
