The Honorable Douglas Tupper Wetmore June 23, 1927 - March 23, 2013

Our much loved husband, father and grandfather, Doug, died peacefully with his family at his side.

Born and raised in Trail, B.C., Doug practiced law in the Kootenays and Boundary. With Catherine (Betty), his wife of sixty years they raised a family in Warfield. In 1975 Doug was appointed a B.C. County, then Supreme Court judge in Vancouver, where they lived until retiring to Vernon. Doug and Catherine returned to Trail in 2008 to be close to family.

His family and many friends and colleagues will fondly remember Doug for his clever humour and cowboy soul, his love of music, his strong sense of social engagement, his beautiful rose gardens, his generous hospitality and lasting friendships, and mostly his deep affection for his family.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Catherine, sister Madeline (Brian), children Mara (Tom), Alison (Ian), and Doug (Jean), grandchildren Jesson, Bronwen Erin, Clare, Catharine and Jordan. Doug was predeceased by his brother Michael.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Doug's life will be held on April 30th at 11:00 am at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 1347 Pine Avenue, Trail, B.C. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
