Edward Harmon (Ted) Caldwell

Ted passed away peacefully December 27, 2010, at the age of 91 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tina, Joan, (Livio) and Dianne (Tom). Ted will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Jeff (Lisa), Kim (Craig), Michael (Sandy), Darryn, Trevor, and Sean (Tammy); six great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary; brother-in-law Allan; son-in-law Dennis, and numerous neices and nephews.

Ted was predeceased by his first wife Peg, his second wife Ruth, daughter Frances, his siblings Muriel, Ruth, Jack, Betty, and granddaughter, Kristi.

Ted was raised on a farm in Killim, Alberta.He attended normal school in Camrose where he taught prior to serving in the Air Force in England and India during WWII. Subsequently, he graduated from the University of Alberta as a Mining Engineer in 1949 . During his 35 year career with Cominco, in both Trail and Vancouver, he became well known and highly respected throughout the mining and metallurgical industry. Ted treasured his personal contacts with friends and colleagues, participating actively in community, musical, and professional associations. He was devoted to his family, evidenced in so many ways,and will live on in our hearts forever.

In accordance with Ted's wishes, there will be no funeral, Cremation has taken place. A family celebration of life will follow . If desired, in memory of Ted, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Department of Veterans Affairs.
