Jul 10, 1931 - Apr 27, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce Ted's passing on April 27, 2018, at the age of 86. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family in Kelowna, BC.

Ted was born on July 10, 1931, in Creston, BC to Agnes (Roseland) and George William (Bill) Heslop, while they were en route to Trail.

He married the love of his life Georgina (Bertolozzi) on June 27, 1959. They enjoyed 58 devoted years together and lovingly raised their five children.

Ted was happiest surrounded by family, telling stories and sharing his quick-witted humor with his children and grandchildren. Ted loved treating the family to summer holidays at Christina Lake, where countless treasured memories were made, and hours of swimming, boating and fishing were enjoyed. He and Georgina were avid hockey fans and spent many dedicated seasons attending the Trail Smoke Eaters' games.

He was often seen behind a camera, as he beautifully captured many precious family memories, and numerous local celebrations and events. He volunteered to serve St. Michael's School, The Boy Scouts, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and was the Treasurer for the Diocese of Nelson and the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for 60 years. Ted finished his CGA course and spent the majority of his career as the Manager of Medical Associates Clinic.

In 2013, Ted and Georgina moved from their beloved Marigold Drive home and beautiful garden to spend their golden years in West Kelowna.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Georgina on June 28, 2017, his mother Agnes in 1992, his father George William in 1970, his sister Marion in 2009 and his son Thomas in 1964.

Ted will be dearly missed by his five children: Bob (Joanne) of Burnaby; Michael (Karren) of Blind Bay; Janice (Marvin) Laturnus of Delta; Corinne Macasso of West Kelowna; Bill of Summerland; and his 11 grandchildren Christina and Kaitlyn Heslop; Amy (Eric) Struyk and Kurtis Heslop; Nathan, Lauren and Graeme Laturnus; Jacqueline, Erica, Marissa and Max Macasso; his two great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Marco Struyk; as well as his sister Shirley Walker of Mission, B.C. Ted will always be remembered as a kind, patient man; a true gentleman.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 2012 Third Avenue, Trail, BC on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with interment of ashes to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Rossland.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to St. Michael's School, Trail at 1329 Fourth Avenue, Trail, BC V1R 1S3. www.smces.ca
