JACKMAN, Edwin (Ted) Keith — It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin Keith Jackman, known as Ted. With his family by his side, Ted passed away peacefully on May 4, 2012, at the age of 51 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ted was born on September 26, 1960, in Nelson, BC. He spent his childhood years in Salmo. After leaving high school, Ted moved to Nakusp, where he met his loving spouse of 34 years, Denise Dube. Together they moved to Fruitvale and raised their children, Jeremy and Ashley.

Ted was passionate about his family, career and hobbies. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. He enjoyed doing woodwork and had a successful career as an auto body technician. He was a loving father and spouse. Ted enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time outdoors and visiting with friends and family. No matter what a person’s mood, Ted could bring a smile to their face.

Ted is survived by his wife, Denise; his children, Jeremy and Ashley (Devin Syfchuck); his mother, Lorna; his siblings, Rick (Cheryl), Dale (Kim), Yvonne, Neil (Joey), and Ruby (Dave) Blake; and his loving dog, Ricki. Ted is predeceased by his father, Edwin, and brother Robert (Lorne).

Pastor Keith Simmons will officiate a Memorial Service at St. Paul’s United Church in Fruitvale, on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 am. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

Very special thanks to his family doctor, Eric DallaLana, and the staff of the Beaver Valley Clinic and the oncology floor of the Trail Regional Hospital.
