WALLACE, Eleanor (nee Williamson) of Trail passed away at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on January 28, 2013. Eleanor was born on February 1, 1926 in Morayshire, Scotland.

Eleanor is survived by her son Sam (Nina), daughter Maggie (Garey), grandchildren Jeremy (Tracie), Tammy, Jenny (Judd), Darren (Andrea), René and Chris; and great-grandchildren Taylor, Payton, Kaylem, Rachel and Charlotte. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Stirling; daughter Ethel; brother Alexander (Sandy) and her great-granddaughter Samantha.


Eleanor served in the Armed Forces before she returned to Trail and met Stirling, to whom she was married to for 57 years before his death in 2004.


Her membership in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11 spanned 51 years, and she will be remembered as “Lucky” for her numerous wins at Bingo and other events held at the Legion. Eleanor was a member of the Pythian Sisters for many years and was an enthusiastic contributor for their yearly bazaars.


A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4-6 pm at “Carberry’s Chapel” and a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Trail First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Meridyth Robertson officiating. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
