Always Loved Never Forgotten ~
Elizabeth (Betty) was born in Watson, Saskatchewan to John and Ann Lisowski. She was the third child of seven and was blessed with four sisters and two brothers, many nieces and nephews. She married Sam Cahoon in 1960 - her best friend and loving husband. Together they had four children and four grandchildren: John deceased; Geoffrey (Bruna, deceased); Gary, (Paget), Patrick, Kathleen; Tracy, (Mark), Ethan, Isabella.
She loved her grandchildren and hearing about their many accomplishments. The four were the centre of her life and they brought much happiness and love.
Betty was involved in many sports, including golfing, curling, bowling and was an active member in Trail. She liked to give back and volunteer with the Heart Fund, Salvation Army, Girl Guides and the Trail Hospital Auxiliary. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed reading as a pastime over the years.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Ann, sister Alice and husband Frank, brother Walter, brother-in-laws Bill and Fred; as well as, infant son John.
She leaves her sisters and brother:
Jean Kuznitsoff - Watson, SK
Ann Coutts, (Steve) - Kelowna, BC
Michael Lisowski, (Katrina) - Nova Scotia
Darlene Fedderson, (Ron) - Saskatoon, SK
Lucille Lisowski - (sister-in-law) Edmonton, AB
Her children and grandchildren will remember her as a mother and grandmother who loved to bake and make holiday celebrations special. Her devotion and love were never ending. As a prairie girl she was not afraid of hard work.
In her younger years, she trained as a psychiatric nurse in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, after which she branched out and worked at the Vancouver General Hospital in the Children's Health Centre.
An Honouring of Betty's Life will take place at a later date in Spring/Summer. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation that had a special place in Nannys' loving heart.
