CHEYNE, Elizabeth “Betty” Carnie: passed away peacefully on November 2, 2010, with family by her side. She is survived by her loving children, John (Anne) Cheyne of Cambridge, Ontario, Ruth (Doug) Alexander of London, Ontario, and Debbie (Art) Frye of Penticton, BC as well as grandchildren Katie, Heather, Alexandra, Bryce, Lynn, Helen, Carol and Erica. She was sadly predeceased by her husband Robert in 1990. Betty was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 4, 1924. She attended nursing school at St. John, New Brunswick, then continued her nursing career in Kingston before moving to BC in 1948 and settling in Trail. Where she met and married Robert in 1950. They later moved to Mission, then to Ashcroft. Betty spent her retirement years in Penticton where she was very active in the volunteer community. She will be fondly remembered by friends and family. A memorial service will be held in Betty’s honour at 2:30 pm on November 20, 2010 at Charles Manor, 333 Martin Street, Penticton, BC.
