In Loving Memory ~
We bid a sad farewell to our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at Rosewood Village, Trail B.C. on January 14, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Mildred, her husband Bill Michaux (2016) and her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis (2022) and Frank Sindell (2024).
Bette is survived by her three children and their spouses, Denise (Andy), Brian (Vonni) and Gordon (Katherine), as well as by seven grandchildren, (Morgan, Jordan, Casandra, Aaron, Calahan, Maren and Torin and three great grandchildren, (Leni, Zevi and Brooks).
Bette was born, raised and married in Trail B.C. She attended Provincial Normal school in Victoria. She loved being a teacher and spent the first part of her career teaching grade one at the old Fruitvale Elementary School. She later became the Head Librarian at the Beaver Valley Library from Jan 1982 to Sept 1996.
For 62 years, she shared her life with her beloved and inseparable husband. They settled down in Fruitvale and built a home there from the ground up. Together they skied the mountains, bicycled the world and sailed the oceans and lakes. All the while weathering life's ups and downs.
She was a talented painter; watercolor being her favorite medium. Bette also found time to participate in the Rock Club and Women's Institute. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, painting, sewing, knitting and crafting. A good book in a book bag was always with her for any dull moment that might pop up.
As we remember you Mom,
we will celebrate a life well lived.
Give our love to Dad, we will miss you.
