Mom was a stay at home mom, wife to career Cominco employee, the love of her life Ben. Mom and Dad emigrated to Canada in the 1950's to begin their new life together.
They were joined by mom's brother John Danen and sister Jenny Fellows where they all settled in the Trail Area and began to raise their families.
Mom's roots and connection to family in Holland were very important to her, making several trips there over the years. Even in her last months, she spent many video sessions with her sisters connecting and reminiscing about their past family life.
An expression of gratitude to all those that supported mom in her last year: Castlewood Village in Castlegar, 3rd Floor doctors, nurses, care aids at KBRH and those at Poplar Ridge in her final days.
Mom always said that she wanted to leave on her terms, in her sleep which is what she did. Very peaceful.
