January 6, 1931 - April 18, 2019
Passed away peacefully April 18, 2019 in Columbia View Lodge which had been her home for the last five years. Elsa was born on January 6, 1931 in Aprigliano, Cosenza, Italy.
Elsa emigrated to Canada in 1953, where she met her husband Domenic in Fernie, BC. She later resided in Calgary, Trail and Langley and in 2014, she returned to Trail to finish out her life.
Elsa is survived by her son Roger (Adele), grandchildren; Angela (Robert), Mario and Roger (Ashlee), her great-grandchildren; Isabella, Noah, Ethan, Aven, Brodyn and Beckett, her sister Alfonzina Cuozzo and many nieces and nephews in Italy. She was predeceased by her parents Rocco and Mariet DeVuono, her son Mario Maio, husband Domenic Maio, her partner John Cupello and siblings Lino DeVuono and Elvira Femia.
Elsa's family would like to thank Dr. Benzer and all the staff and volunteers of Columbia View Lodge, who extended great care and friendship to her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
