February 4, 1941 - October 6, 2019
"Bud" Eric Freeman Moores passed away peacefully on October 6, 2019. Born in Botwood, Newfoundland February 4, 1941, he was the first son born to
Cora & Walter Moores. He had 3 brothers & 4 sisters whom he was very close to; Bruce, Gerald, Verdon, Hazel, Gloria, Margaret & Patrinna. He left home at an early age and headed to Montreal. A few years later he met Reta Berland, and they were married in 1967. A year later they had their only daughter, Sherry. The threesome moved to Pepperell, Massachusetts in 1971 where he ran a catering truck, then on to Windsor, Ontario in 1976 where he worked for Chrysler. In 1980, there was some work out west which lead them to Trail, BC working for Cominco. He married Vivien Armishaw in 1991 and spent the next 28 years travelling, spending time with family, making new friends in Cancun and enjoying life. They lived in Kelowna for 13 years, as well.
He will be extremely missed by his family and friends. Most people knew him as Farmer, the Newfie or Uncle Bud. He brought a smile to everyone that he met. His sense of humor was one of a kind. Dancing, singing, making up songs about everyone and everything was his specialty. He loved the Blue Jays, any hockey game, golf, bocce, playing pool and going to the race track.
We want to thank his Doctors especially Dr. M. Smith and Dr. N. Scotland who treated him like a king. As well, the nurses on the 3rd floor at Trail Hospital, thank you!
A Celebration of Bud's life will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1 pm at the Trail Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #11 with Major Samuel Fame officiating.
