Etta Haman passed away peacefully on April 7, 2013. Etta was born in Regina, Sask. Sept. 30, 1916 a few minutes after her twin sister, Edna, weighing just under 3 lbs. She grew up in a loving family and in 1937 married John R. Haman.  They moved to Trail to begin their life together.

Etta & John purchased and operated the Duncan Dairy.  Mom worked hard milking cows, baking bread and cooking meals for the workers, as well as raising her family.

In 1959 when John became ill, they sold the cattle and Etta went to work in the office at J. Lloyd Crowe High School. John passed away January 1962 and Mom continued to work at the school until her retirement.  Mom was active in her church & was president of the Lutheran Ladies Aid for many years.  She enjoyed her time as a volunteer at Kate's Kitchen & the friendships she made there.

Mom is fondly remembered by her daughters, Gail McLaren & Marlene Ink, and her son & daughter-in-law Jack & Mary Hamann; her grandchildren, Jeff Ink (Debbie), Daron Ink (Susan), Garth Ink (Annette), Susan Smyth (Ryan), Brett McLaren (Julie), Laurel Hamann and John Hamann (Glenda); her great-grandchildren: Krysta Ink, Nathan & Taylor Ink, Dylan & Cassidy Smyth and Sam & Scott McLaren; her sisters Edna New (Vancouver) and Helen Koskey (Calgary)and her sister-in-law Alma Pasker (Vancouver) as well as many nieces and nephews.  Mom always appreciated the love & support received from her nieces Dorothy Merkely & Madeline Hurd.

Mom was predeceased by her brother Ron Pasker, sons-in-law Larry McLaren and Howard Ink.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Village for the kind, attentive & loving care given to Mom during her stay.
