NACCARATO, Francesco Modesto of Trail passed away at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on July 9, 2011. He was born on December 16, 1928 in Grimaldi, Cosenza.
Frank emigrated from Italy in 1951 and he worked as a baker. This is where he learned to make his famous pizza dough. He then moved to Cominco (CM & S) where he worked until 1985. He loved his garden and making wine and sausages with his friends. He was especially fond of his property at Deep Lake where the family gathered every summer for 30 years. Frank’s pride and joy were his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Grimaldi Club, Italaco Club and the Italo Canadese Society.
Francesco is survived by his children; son Antonio (Brenda), daughters Maria (Mark) and Lidia (Jannie), grandchildren Nicole (Luke), Grant, David, Joanna, Glen, James and Sofia as well as great grandsons Cooper and Tanner. He was predeceased by his wife Serafina in January 2011, sons Mario and Santo, and grandson Joseph.
A prayer service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Father Matthieu Gombo Yange OfmCap will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady on Saturday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. Al Grywacheski with Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
