September 28, 2020
It is with great pain that we announce Gary Earl Janni's battle with cancer has come to an end. Proving he was stronger and more resilient than all of us, Gary went to rest peacefully early September 28, 2020.
After spending quality time with beloved family members in the weeks and months leading to his passing, we believe Gary, the outdoorsman made his way to the other side. He took some time for himself by tending to his old horses, skiing down Red Mountain, and sitting on the hillside waiting to spot his first elk of the season.
Gary was survived by his dad and best friend, Ron, all four of his children, Corrie (Mike), Terisa (Greg), Danny (Tammy), and Riley (Sharon), as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Gary was also survived by his siblings, Faye, Ron (Sue), Leonard (Marijan), Bev (Art), Connie, Christie, Joline, and Larry, as well as many, many extended family members and family friends.
Gary joins his mother, Vera, stepmother, Shirley, stepfather, Fred, and brothers, Alan and Tony, and numerous grandparents, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
We thank the community for their well wishes during this challenging time, including a special thank you to his healthcare team and his personal caregiver and long-time family friend, Kim.
Jamie Tarron of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with the arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, we ask that those wishing to celebrate Gary's legacy, consider donating to the BCSPCA.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.myalternatives.ca
