July 19, 1957 - December 10, 2018
Gerald "Wayne" Pengelly, Age 61, passed away peacefully in Trail, BC on December 10, 2018. Wayne was born July 19, 1957 in Enderby, BC to Irvine and Mary Pengelly. He was the youngest of four children. He was raised in North Okanagan where he graduated from high school in Armstrong, BC. Wayne then went to work in the militia for a number of years which included a trip to Germany. After finishing his career with the militia, he went on to work at Teck Cominco in Trail, BC until retiring after 35 years in 2015. Although he was a quiet man, he was recognized by many as he would be seen daily walking into Fruitvale to go for his morning coffee. When he wasn't out walking, he was an avid reader and was an expert at putting together the most complicated puzzles. He was a history buff and always had a wealth of information about things of the past. Wayne was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Gail Pengelly and both his parents, Mary and Irvine Pengelly. He is survived by his brother Charles (Mary Ann) Pengelly and his sister Brenda Gerry of Vernon, BC. His family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Trail Regional Hospital who made his last days comfortable.

There will be a celebration of Wayne's life in the spring of 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Wayne's name can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
