June 23, 1952 - June 6, 2020
It is with profound sadness that the family of Gina "Teresa" Veltri (nee Arcuri) announces her passing on June 6, 2020. Teresa was born on June 23, 1952 in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy. She immigrated to Canada shortly after she and Tony were married in their home town.
Teresa was an excellent baker with scalili and other Italian baking being her claim to fame! She was very involved in her daughter Maria's Special Olympic events from baking those Italian cookies for bake sales, to preparing meals for potlucks, and selling raffle tickets. She enjoyed baking for friends and preparing family meals also knitting and crocheting. She was a long standing member of the Italo Canadese and the CWL.
One of Teresa's all-time favourite activities was to plant a vegetable garden and an array of beautiful flowers. She loved to get up early in the morning, pour herself a cup of coffee, sit on the bench outside and take pleasure in watching everything grow.
Teresa will be sadly missed by her husband Tony, daughter Maria, brother-in-law Sam (Sally), sister-in-law Cathy, nieces Angela (Dan), Tricia (Shaun), nephew Kelly (Veronica), brothers Pasquale, Domenico, sisters Rosa, Marisa, as well as many nieces and nephews in Italy. She was predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Antonia Arcuri.
A private Mass of Christian Burial followed by entombment at the Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum will take place with Father Francis dela Cruz officiating. Bill Clark and Jamie Tarron of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Servicesâ„¢ have been entrusted with arrangements.
