December 14, 1924 - June 11, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppe (Joe) Bozzer on Friday June 11th, 2021, at the age of 96, with his family by his side. He was born on December 14th, 1924 in San Martino al Tagliamento, Pordenone, Italy.
He came to Canada in January of 1949. Shortly thereafter, he got a job working in the Tank Rooms at Cominco (formerly the C.M. and S. Company). He worked his way up to being a well-respected Heavy Equipment Operator, a job which he thoroughly enjoyed and took great pride in.
He retired in 1985 and enjoyed over 30 years of tending to his garden and making great wine. Through the years we heard many stories of his life, which we will all treasure greatly.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Luciana, son Ray (Tina), daughter Sherry (Dave), granddaughters Danielle (Cody), Allison (Andrei), great granddaughter Bronwen, his brother Remigio (Nives), and nephew and niece Paolo (Sandra) and Cathy (Kenny) who through the past few months have always been there to help dad when needed.
He also leaves behind nieces and nephews in Italy, and numerous extended family members. He was predeceased by his infant son, Giovanni, parents Valentino and Caterina, his two sisters, Liberina and Anita, and by his nephew Denny.
A small, private family service was held at "Carberry's Chapel", followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM was entrusted with arrangements.
