It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. She was born to parents John and Christine Trippel in Rosther, SK.

Gladys came to work in Trail in the late 30s. In 1939 she married our father Ed Wutke, and soon after, four children arrived. Some years after Dad’s passing, Gladys remarried Ben Nett in 1975 and moved to Medicine Hat. When Ben passed on, she returned to Trail in 1992.

Gladys has resided at Columbia View Lodge for the past 15 years where she was known for her keen sense of humour. In younger years she loved playing word games and bridge. Many wonderful years were spent at the cabin at Syringa Creek on the Arrow Lakes, where the family would spend the entire summer.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, husbands Ed Wutke in 1969 and Ben Nett in 1992, grandson Jason Wutke in 1990, three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her children Gail Mason, Sandra (John) Milosevich, Sharon (Angus) MacLelland, and Ed Wutke, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, her sister Esther Peters, brothers Wilbur and Leo Trippel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held at Mountain View Cemetery on September 11, 2010, followed by a luncheon. Al Grywacheski of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” was entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Glady’s memory may be made to Columbia View Lodge, 2920 Laburnum Drive, Trail, BC V1R 4N2.

Mom will be dearly missed and always loved.
