Goldie Doerksen McDougall, loving mother and grandmother, passed away suddenly on April 22, 2020 in Kamloops, BC.
Goldie was born in 1925 in Batoche, Saskatchewan to Abe and Rose Doerksen. She married Angus McDougall in 1942 and they moved to Trail in 1947 after he returned from service in WWII.
Goldie was devoted to her family and took pride in her home. She was an avid gardener and her freshly baked bread was a family favourite. She was renowned as an excellent seamstress. A longtime member of the legion, she enjoyed participating in many community and church activities. Fun-loving and good-humoured, Goldie loved dancing, playing cards, and sharing a glass of wine with friends and family.
Goldie was predeceased by her parents, her sister, and her husband of 68 years. She is survived by her four children; Redford (JoAnn) of Las Vegas, NV, Donald (Kathy) of Reno, NV, Diane (Robert) Mills of Kamloops, BC, and Terry (Erin) of Flint, MI. She also leaves seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be planned sometime in the future. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Goldie's name may be made to the Trail Food Bank or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at DrakeCremation.com
