Mr. Gordon Hallock of Castlegar passed peacefully on January 18, 2017 at the age of 95.
Gordon, the 3rd eldest of 12 children, was born at Seven Persons, Alberta to Wilfred and Sarah Hallock. He moved to the Chedderville area with his family at the age of 2 and lived there until he married his wife Viola on June 9, 1948. Gordon obtained work with Cominco, until he retired in 1980 with 31 years of service. Gordon and Viola settled in Fruitvale BC from 1948 to 1993 when they moved to Robson. Gordon and Viola moved into Castlegar in 2009 to call Castle Wood Village their home.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 68 years, Viola, his children Lorne (Lynn) and Sherry (Keith) Watson, Grandchildren Alyssa (Ryan) Biller and Emily (Kiel) McIntosh, and Great-grandchildren Olivia and Alex Biller and Cali and Kate McIntosh, brother Dan and many nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by his young son Curtis Allen in 1959, his parents Wilfred and Sarah, Sisters Mary Heare, Vera Steeves, Joyce Visotto, Belva Arich, Amy Kohnke, Ida, Brothers Virgil, William, and infant siblings Doris and Wilfred.
The Funeral Service for the late Gordon Hallock will be held at Carberry’s Funeral Chapel, 1298 Pine Avenue Trail , B.C. on Friday January 27, 2017 at 3PM with Rev. Ken Siemens officiating.
