Gordon Cook of Fruitvale passed away peacefully at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on November 3, 2013. Gord was born on August 4, 1938 in Vancouver, BC.
After completing high school, Gordon started his career with BC Tel where he worked until his retirement in 1991. After his retirement, he divided his time between building and completing home-built aircraft (the Falco) and marathon cycling. He also spent time volunteering at the Trail Airport.
Gord is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Doreen, his children; Dennis, Tammy (Dean), and Danny, his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his brother Don.
He is predeceased by his daughter Heather and his sister Margaret.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Warfield Hall. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Gord’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at 908 Rossland Avenue, Trail, BC, V1R 3N6.
