The family of Gordon James McKenzie sadly announces his passing on November 26, 2015 at Trail Regional Hospital.

A passionate, gentle, competitive sportsman who was a happy guy with no regrets. Born in Prince Albert, Sk., September 25, 1929; educated in Rossland, and Washington State Univ.; a 39 year engineering career with the oil and gas industry in Ft. Nelson, Ft. St. John, and the Environmental division in Vancouver, retiring in 1994. His ultimate dream was to retire and “play” at Red Mountain and the hills around Rossland and Christina Lake. He had many friends to share their adventures in skiing, cycling, golf, hiking and story telling. “I’ve had a good life” he said at a recent family gathering, “no regrets and I am happy, happy, happy”.

Loved, and remembered by Carroll (Williams), his wife and partner of 30 years, from Trail to Vancouver to Rossland. All their children: Cameron (Dara), Sandra (Ken), Mary Ann (Erich) and Teresa McKenzie. Ryan (Lori), Randy (Tracy) Mellett, Gina (Gerry) Goldhart. Thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sisters: Shirley LeCours and Carol Parsons. Many nieces, nephews, and Dale McKenzie, mother to Gordon’s children. Predeceased by parents: Cora (Gordon), James (Mac) McKenzie and Sister, June Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life, in Memory of Gordon (Pork Chops to some), will be held at St. Andrews, St. Georges Anglican Church, Pine Ave., in Trail where Gordon and Carroll have been active members this past 20 years. Rev. Neil Elliott officiating. All are invited to luncheon in the Church Hall, after the service, to enjoy visiting, stories and videos. Time: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
