Bechard, Gregory Norman of Trail passed away with his daughter Aimee and sister Lynn by his side on June 22, 2013 at the young age of 57. Greg was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan June 28, 1955 and is reunited with his son Kirk, father Norman and mother Ailene (March 31, 2013).

His memory will live on with his children and grandchildren: Brandy Bechard (Aurora, Korbin) of Medicine Hat; Aimee and Shane Geysen (Jordon, Chandler) of Trail; Dean Bechard (Jade) of Vancouver; his sister Lynn Pelzer and brother-in-law Dieter of Regina and their children; nephews James Pelzer (Erin) of Calgary (Kale); Kelly Pelzer (Susan) of White City(Benett); and niece Cortne Pelzer (Brian Johnston) of White City (Tucker, Kaeden, and Mitchell; as well as numerous cousins; the mother of his children Debra Dean Bechard; his beloved cat Harley and long-time friends Steve and Cheryl Pargeter, Sharon Rayner (James, Sheena) and countless friends.  Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and care aids at Trail Regional Hospital for their care and compassion during Greg’s several stays over the past year.

Gregory was a very kind hearted, compassionate man who loved life and lived it on his own terms right to the end. He would open his home and heart to anyone in need and had a love of family, nature, animals, and gardening. A jack of all trades he could fix anything and was a wealth of knowledge when it came to welding, construction, all things mechanical and even some electrical. In his younger days and eventually only when his health permitted he loved to take to the open road on his Harley. Although born on the prairies, BC quickly stole his heart and became his “forever” home – he loved living in the mountains.

Greg - “Farewell though you’re gone, you’re memory remains. So be not sad but brave and glad and let memories shared sustain us through the long years ahead”. Until we meet again. Love your sister, Lynn

A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11,Trail , BC on Saturday, June 29th at 11:00am. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
