In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mom, H Barbara Armour. August 8, 1937 - October 17, 2024.
Mom was a lifelong resident of Rossland and Trail. She married Ross and moved to Rossland for 42 years. After meeting her 2nd husband Ron Hinchcliffe, she moved to Warfield until she went into care.
Upon finishing college, she taught at McLean School in Rossland.
Mom's passion was caring for people especially children, known to so many as Auntie Barb or grandma Barb.
She volunteered her time and energy to anyone and everyone. Friends, children, neighbours and even strangers were recipients of her constant thoughtfulness & generosity. Spending time with family and daily coffee with friends meant the world to her. Mom was a joker like dad and especially liked April Fools, she looked forward to tricking anyone who'd fall for it.
Christina Lake was her favourite place to spend summers and watching her family there and at any sporting events provided endless hours of joy. Family and the lake were where she was most happy.
She was predeceased by husbands Ross Armour & Ron Hinchcliffe, in-laws Larry Warrington, Brenda Letwin, Bob Martini, Corinne Armour, Ray Armour.
Survived by Lyle (Chantal), Scott (Nancy), Kim (Rick McKinnon), Bruce (Ashley)
Grandchildren, Alexis, Justine & Riley Deadmarsh, Jill, Ross, Archie (Megan), Taylor & Ian McNulty, Kaycee, Colby, Olivia, Great grandchildren Leo, Owen & Brooks, Sister CarolAnn Warrington, in-laws Diane Martini & Erv Letwin and many nieces & nephews.
Special thanks to all at Columbia View Lodge.
A celebration of life will be next summer at the lake.
