Miscisco: Hazel of Trail passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2011. She was born August 12, 1919 in Moyie, BC.

Hazel moved to Trail in 1933. She took her hairdressing training in Vancouver during World War II.

She was very active in sports including basketball, softball and bowling. She was also a member of the Warfield Recreation Commission. Later, Hazel and Art ran the Frosty Spot in Warfield for several years.

She is survived by her son Ken, grandchildren; Ken (Jane) and Brent (Nicole), sister; Merle Ruckstuhl, as well as great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Art in 2010, daughter Wendy in 2001, daughter-in-law Shirley, brothers Bill, Bert, Cam, Howard and Ken and sisters Esther and Jessie.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Mountain View Cemetery at 10:00 am with Reverend Liz Bowyer from the Trail United Church. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
