Carter, Henry Charles - of Montrose, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2011 at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, with his family by his side.

Henry was born in England on September 17, 1924, to the late Ernest and Kathleen Carter. In 1947, he married Josephine Biffen, and they immigrated to Canada where he went to work at Cominco as a Tinsmith. They eventually settled in Montrose, where they built their home and raised their family.

Henry is survived by his three daughters and their families. Christine (Stan) Durrant, Wendy (Tim) Grayson, Tracey (Alan) Bressanutti. Grandchildren, Angi (Bob), Trisha (Jeff), Kris (Kari), Nick (Angela), Aaron (Alexis), and Great Grandson Carter. Also survived by his only remaining sibling, Violet Bennett.

A celebration of life was held on September 7th, 2011, at Carberry’s Chapel, after which Henry was laid to rest with his wife Josie at Mountain View Cemetery. Ken Siemens officiated the service.
