It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful, cherished mother and nonna Isabella Bonacci. Born on December 22, 1927 in Cerrisi, Decollatura, Province Catanzaro, Italy, Isabella passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 30, 2015 at Poplar Ridge Pavilion in Trail, BC.

Isabella is survived by her children Frank (Rita), and Rachela (Nigel) and her grandchildren Dina, Nicolas, Patrick, Jayleen, and Corbin.

She was predeceased by her beloved Vincenzo, and her parents Saveria and Battista Molinaro, her brothers Ettore and Aldo, as well as her firstborn infant son Francesco.

Isabella worked for many years at the Terra Nova, and the Riverbelle doing what she loved most – cooking. She was a loving and gracious wife, mother, and friend whose gentle way will always be remembered. Isabella’s pride was her grandchildren, who have many treasured memories of their nonna’s infinite affection for them. Isabella loved cooking for the family and we all looked forward to the gourmet meals and the delicious desserts. Her example of faith, patience, as well as courage, will carry us forward. She took pleasure in making many beautiful knitted and crocheted gems. Our lives and family gatherings will never be the same, but we take consolation in the fact that Isabella and our dear father Vincenzo lived a full life and now are reunited again. We were blessed to have shared so many years and joyous occasions with them. Our mother and nonna not only made our house a home, but she made it heaven on earth for us all.

Words cannot express our utmost gratitude to Poplar Ridge Pavilion for taking loving and compassionate care of our mother these last years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 10:30 am with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Entombment to follow at the Trail Mausoleum at Mountain View Cemetery. Bill Clark with Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Isabella’s name to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation (Poplar Ridge Pavilion) at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca
