In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Connell on February 20, 2022, surrounded by his family at KBRH after a short illness. Jack was born in Yellowknife in 1941.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jack Sr. and Minnie Connell.
He is survived by his loving wife Bernice of 55 years, daughter Janice (Mark) Thatcher, son (and best friend) Bryan Connell as well as grandchildren Paige (Devin) Thatcher and Cole Thatcher. He is also survived by Allen and Ayla-Rae Barbour.
As a teenager Jack obtained his private pilot's licence, and then a commercial licence and worked in that field until he became employed with Cominco. Jack worked at Cominco for 30 years as a Second Class Steam Engineer. After an early retirement, he worked as a guard for the RCMP for 20 years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yo, Michelle and Laura at Columbia Primary Care, EMTs and the doctors and nurses involved in his care, especially in ICU. Lastly, thank you to the amazing Rosewood staff for their care, and Jackie at Safeway Pharmacy for going above and beyond.
As per Jack's request, there will not be a public service. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to the SPCA at www.spca.bc.ca.
You may be gone from our sight,
but not from our hearts.
