August 20, 2010

Marillee & Terry Wedding May 16, 2009 Noi & Jackie

It is with loving sadness that we announce the passing of Jacqueline on August 20, 2010 after a long, valiant struggle with cancer. She passed away at the hospital with her family by her side.

Jackie was born in Saskatchewan on May 29, 1931 and moved with her family to Trail as a young girl. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Noi; children, Alan (Ruth), Carol (Doug Savill), Grant (Heather) and Michael (Tracy); 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and her best friend of 69 years, Laura Lucin. Her siblings are Vic (Carol) Campeau, Dolores Morrison, Gerry Campeau, Terry (Marillee) Campeau and Corinne (Doug) Fox. Also feeling grief for Jacqueline are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by parents Jeanne and Leon Campeau, grandson, Peter, and sister-in-law, Ann.

Jackie had two passions in life – her family and her church. She was granted a life membership in the Catholic Women’s League, having held numerous executive positions at the local, provincial and national level. Mom was an avid reader, enjoyed hand crafts and more recently embroidered greeting cards. She attended Trail Business College, had a successful career in the Court Registry Office (Rossland), was Trail Hospital Board Chair and completed a Diploma in Theology of which she was very proud.

Father Gabriel will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:30. Prayers will take place on Tuesday evening at OLPH at 7:00pm. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services ‘Carberry’s Chapel’ is entrusted with arrangements. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in Jackie’s memory to the KBRH Health Foundation, 1200 Hospital Bench Road, Trail, BC V1R 4M1.
