It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jean Boyczuk on September 29, 2014 with her family by her side. Jean was born on September 30, 1930 in Trail.
Jean owned and operated The Gift Shop in downtown Trail for 36 years. She was a very active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #11 where she currently held the position of President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Immediate Past Zone Commander. Jean received many awards for her dedicated service.
She was predeceased by her husband Barney, her parents Ed and Ethel Turner, her brother George, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her three sons, Edward (Marie) McKimmie, John (Debbie) Boyczuk, and Glenn (Cheryl) Boyczuk, her grandchildren Edward (Rachel) McKimmie, Tiane, Jessica and Jacob Boyczuk, Tyson and Nick, Sammy Boyczuk, and great-grandchild Malaya McKimmie. She is also survived by her two sisters Ruth and Lorna, as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Trail Legion Branch #11 on Monday, October 6th, 2014 at 11:00am. Veterans, Ladies Auxiliary and Legion Members please attend.
