John Marozoff of Castlegar, BC passed away peacefully with family by his side at the age of 88 in Poplar Ridge Pavillion, Trail, BC.
John was born on July 19, 1930 in Kylemore, Saskatchewan to parents John A. and Helen Marozoff and was the eldest of four children. The family moved to BC in 1937. John's employment started at young age and carried him across BC in numerous jobs. Eventually he found his favorite occupation in building houses. Mainly in the Penticton and Grand Forks area. John married Polly Koftinoff in 1952 at Krestova and they had three children together, Walter, Linda and Robert. Throughout his life, John enjoyed listening to music, fishing, camping, travelling in the area and across the border, playing poker, reading history and was an avid sports fan.
Survived by his wife Polly of Castlegar, BC, his children Walter (Allison) of Edmonton, AB, Linda Mulder of Castlegar, BC and Robert of Trail, BC, his grandchildren Jason (Leanne) Mulder of Trail, BC and Shelby Marozoff of Edmonton, AB, his great-granddaughters Mila and Nora Mulder of Trail, BC.
John was predeceased by his parents John A and Helen Marozoff, brothers Larry and George and sister Martha Vereschagin.
A Funeral Service will be held at Crescent Valley Hall on Thursday, May 23rd at 10 am with burial to follow at Krestova Cemetery. Castlegar Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
The family would like to thank everyone that helped out during this past year for their care and compassion of John including the First Responders, Castlegar Health Centre, Home Support Services, Dr. Lisa Vasil, Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and especially Poplar Ridge Pavilion. Thank you
